ECO Church Planting Quarterly Update

By:

In an effort to promote connection, continuity and above all, intercession for our church planters, this is our 2nd quarterly prayer update for ECO Church Planting. As you are observing this season of Lent, it is our prayer that God causes our hearts to intensely burn with Christ’s commission to make disciples of all nations; what more effective way than through church planting!

Quarter 1 Recap:

We had a wonderful time at the January National ECO Gathering. We had 3 church planting breakout sessions that were well attended, and we also had an opportunity to give an update on the “State of Church Planting” at the main session.

Since the conference, we have been contacted by 9 potential planters and churches that desire to plant. As well, we are working on streamlining the process for planters, began creating a new manual and resource list, started the creation of a church planting planning team, and started to connect with seminaries for potential recruiting.

Featured Church Plant: THE GROVE CHURCH

David Hancock is the lead planter of The Grove Church in Fort Pierce, FL. It exists to help build a flourishing city by helping people find their story through the glory, beauty and worth of God, which is discovered through the good news of Jesus echoing in the halls of hearts and resounding in all the nook and crannies of the city. As the gospel is embraced a new story is written. It is a story that brings hope out of despair, love out of indifference, and life out of death.

PRAYER NEEDS

1) God’s wisdom and direction as we seek to form a new planning team to help with church planting efforts.

2) Prayer for our May 2-3 gathering of church planting chairs and leaders of potential Incubator churches. Two guest speakers will conduct training on how to create effective church planting residency programs.

3) Intercession on behalf of all past and current church planters here.
